Zabar Lake: A Serene Oasis Born from Excavation
A Unique Origin
Lake Žabar owes its existence to a unique process: gravel excavation. From the mid-1960s until the late 1990s, gravel extraction from the area created a vast depression that eventually filled with water, forming the lake as we know it today.
Location and Accessibility
Nestled near the Banja Luka-Belgrade highway, just 300 meters from the village of Donji Žabar, Lake Žabar is easily accessible to visitors. Its proximity to major roads makes it a convenient destination for leisure and relaxation.
